Yes it is chipped wood so wouldn't recommend putting heavy things on itI got this to replace a rubbermade set of drawers I've been using in my bedroom, and hopefully to reduce the amount of bending to the floor to remove clothes from the drawers under my bed. Unfortunately it's not EXACTLY what I'm looking for. That said, it IS a step up from plastic drawers.AssemblyYou can put this together in an hour or two with a minimum of tools but you will need a small screwdriver (Desktop PC sized screw head, Philips), and something to tap in the wood dowels. The package I received was missing the backing that holds it together, and Amazon cannot replace missing parts. However, when I eventually remembered to contact the manufacturer, they IMMEDIATELY sent me a replacement part no questions asked (what great service!).The finished ProductUpon assembling, I found that it's VERY small. You won't be able to put all your clothes in this unless you're a small child or only own 30 articles of clothing total (and even then, the fit would probably be tight). I was hoping to put all my shirts, socks, sweats, and jeans in here, but I was only able to put half of each in here except socks (which just barely fit in a drawer). The finished product looks pretty nice, but the drawers are literally made of fabric (it's the kind you see for collapsible fabric storage containers). There's no rollers, no wooden bottom or sides to the drawers. I would not store anything heavy in here at all.You get what you pay for?If all you need to store is some office supplies, some LIGHT clothes, of something to that effect, this isn't a bad choice. Just be GENTLE with it or you might rip open the fabric drawers. They do catch every time you open them, and there's nothing to keep them from collapsing forward when you pull them out. But again, they LOOK nice, and if you only need light usage they'll get the job done. I consider these to be a stepping stone up from rubbermade before you made the jump to furniture made of solid wood that costs hundreds or thousands of dollars.Quick, easy to put together. I would not recommend this product if the purpose was to store heavy objects. Light objects are okay, such as tablecloths, sheet sets, extra hand towels, etc.So, you usually get what you pay for but in this case you don't. The peices weren't exactly linning up until the whole thing was together. It was hard to tell exactly how some of the peices went together too. If you line it up one way, the holes don't line up at all so you have to switch it all around to figure it out. Ultimately it does come together and have very nice aesthetics which is why I'm keeping it. If you like how it looks and are willing to do the puzzle that is putting it together, by all means, you'll probably like it. I like mineComes in handy, but avoid using it to store even moderately heavy items. one heavy textbook (or equivalent weight) is about the limit for each drawer.I put this together yesterday and so far am satisfied. I bought the four drawer stand it use as a night stand and art supply storage. I’ve found the drawers to be pretty spacious for my purposes. Too much weight in my paint drawer makes it a little harder to put the back in and I find myself having to wiggle it a bit, but it’s not a huge deal. The colors are lovely and pretty true to the photos. Assembling it is much easier with help as the tracks for the drawers don’t like to stay put during the process. The only reason I gave it four stars is because when I was putting it together, it seemed as though two of the instructions were out of order. You need to attach the bottom to the side panels before putting the feet on (which is the opposite of what the instructions say) because the feet will block the rest of the holes. Overall, it is a nice step up from the plastic set of drawers I was using before.better off buying from somewhere else !its was ok.I love the compact nature of the itemOkay, does its job and holds stuff
